Reunification Therapy is the process of reuniting a loved one with someone from whom they have been estranged. The “loved one” is generally a child who has been unable to connect with one or more of his parents. Reunification Therapy can also involve grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.
Reunification Therapy can also involve adult children who have opted to search for their birth parents and to reconnect with them.
When Reunification Therapy is required, it is generally court-ordered from a judge. The reunification can also be specified in a Parenting Plan post-divorce, and specify that a professional counselor be a part of the process.
Our office is warm and friendly. We are located in Vero Beach, Florida.
A Supreme Court Family Mediator in the state of Florida is either an attorney or a professionally trained counselor. If you are planning on using a Mediator as part of your divorce and he or she is not a professionally-trained counselor, you may want to consult with one prior to agreeing to a reunification plan. Counselors are better suited to help individuals to carefully craft a reunification plan that takes into consideration the mental health welfare of all parties that are involved. As a Family Mediator, we have assisted in carefully crafting Parenting Plans that outline reunification.
Rebecca Inman offers Reunification Therapy in her office Vero Beach, Florida. She has extensive training as a mental health clinician, and a family mediator.
